If your GXT5 UPS is displaying a 'Battery Test Fail' warning on its display please note the following:
The Vertiv GXT5 Series UPS had a change during recent years from 'Leoche' brand internal batteries to 'CSB'. This decision by Vertiv to change brands was based on a improved lifespan with CSB over Leoche. Initially the GXT5 series UPS came from the factory with firmware which included the technical data for Leoche. When the battery manufacturer changed, the firmware for the GXT5 units was also updated with the new CSB specifications in addition to Leoche. However there was some units during the changeover period that may have left the factory with the older firmware and the new CSB batteries.
This can then result in the UPS displaying the 'Battery Test Fail' on screen. Vertiv has advised that the resolution for this error is to update the unit firmware to the current revision which can be found here:

As a further note, should your UPS have Leoche batteries and is now ready for the recommend 3-4 year battery replacement, PQG recommends replacing them with CSB batteries. Using another brand may result in a similar warning as the technical data for other brands may not be present in the UPS firmware.
